The 2025 Paris Air Show was held at Le Bourget, Paris from the 16th - 22nd June 2025. This year, the exciting announcements mainly happened during the first three days of the show. In this blog post, I will examine some of the main announcements, breaking down the first three days as well as discuss the apparent lack of Boeing presence at the air show.

Day 1
On Day 1 Saudi Arabian lessor AviLease placed an initial order for 10 A350 Freighters as well as 30 A320neo family aircraft with plans to expand this to 22 freighters and 55 single aisle jets.
Additionally on the first day of the air show, All Nippon Airways (ANA) finalised a firm order for 15 Embraer E190-E2 jets. This order means that ANA will be the first operator of the Embraer E-Jet E2 family in Japan. ANA continued their order announcements and also ordered 27 Airbus aircraft including 3 A321XLR aircraft.

Day 1 was a busy day with LOT Polish Airlines announcing an order of A220s. This includes 20 of the A220-100 variety and 20 of the A220-300 variety. The order for 40 aircraft also includes options for an additional 44 aircraft.

Also on Day 1, Riyadh Air placed a firm order for 25 A350-1000 aircraft. The agreement also includes options for an additional 25 jets. This is an impressive order for an airline that has yet to have its first flight.
Day 2
On Day 2, VietJet signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 100 A321neos with options for another 50 aircraft.

Day 3
Day 3 was another busy day at the Paris Air Show. EGYPTAIR ordered 6 more A350-900 aircraft. Additionally, Turkish cargo airline, MNG Airlines signed an MoU with Airbus for two A350 Freighters. Also on day 3, SkyWest ordered 60 Embraer E175s with options for 50 more. In another order for Airbus, Starlux ordered 10 more A350-1000 aircraft. Finally, Bridges Air Cargo will be the launch customer of the new passenger-to-freighter (P2F) Embraer E190F dubbed the 'E-Freighter'.

Success for Airbus
Clearly the 2025 Paris Air Show was a huge success for Airbus as it received multiple orders on its home turf. The A350 was clearly successful for Airbus with multiple orders received for the aircraft. Additionally, the A350 Freighter received multiple orders. However, the Airbus A330 and A330neo did not appear to have received any orders at the show. Despite this, Airbus will be pleased that it received 40 firms orders from LOT Polish Airlines for the A220. This appears to be a shift for the airline as it currently uses Embraer aircraft for some of its short haul routes.
Boeing's Absence

In contrast to Airbus, Boeing did not appear to have a great show. The Boeing 777X was not at the show. This may be due to the fact that the aircraft is completing certification type testing and the company may not have wanted to send the aircraft to Paris when that time could be used to work towards aircraft certification. Additionally, Boeing recently received multiple large orders from Middle East Carriers when US President Donald Trump visited the Middle East. These large orders may otherwise have been placed at the Paris Air Show if it had not been for the US President's Middle Eastern tour. It will be interesting to see if any of these Middle Eastern carriers will place any more large orders at the Dubai Air Show in November. Additionally the Air India crash earlier in June reportedly meant that the Boeing CEO did not attend the show.

What did you think of the 2025 Paris Air Show? Were there any orders that surprised you? Or were you expecting any orders that didn't happen? Share your thoughts by leaving a comment below, on our group discussion page or on our social media?
