The 10th edition of the Singapore Airshow took place from 3rd - 8th February 2026 at the Changi Exhibition Centre. The 2026 Singapore Airshow certainly had exciting announcements, flying displays and some aircraft orders too. In this blog post, I will take a look at some of these aircraft, announcements and orders from the airshow. Please note that this is not an extensive list but just some of the key takeaways from the 2026 airshow.
The Singapore Airshow is held every two years and it is Asia's largest aerospace and defense event. The first Singapore Airshow was held in 2008 and it replaced the former 'Asian Aerospace event' which was held in Singapore since 1981. The 2026 Singapore Airshow was the 10th edition and the airshow expected to welcome approximately 100,000 attendees and over 1,000 companies. These numbers reflect the growth of the aviation industry in the region as data indicate that the Asia-Pacific region accounted for over 50% of all air traffic growth in 2025.

Aircraft on display
There were many aircraft on display at the 2026 Singapore Airshow. This included both static aircraft and aircraft as part of the flying display.
China's upgraded Chengdu J-10C fighter aircraft made its first appearance at the airshow. The J-10C made its appearance with the PLAAF's display team which previously flew the older J-10A.
Also at the airshow, Airbus displayed an A350-1000 which was newly delivered to Starlux as well as an A220 which was operated by Air Niugini.

The US Navy Boeing P-8 Poseidon aircraft was also at the airshow. This was a significant aircraft as Singapore will acquire 4 P-8 aircraft. This will mean that Singapore will become the first country in southeast Asia to operate Boeing's maritime patrol aircraft.
Another fighter jet at the Singapore Airshow was the Royal Australian Air Force's F-35A Lightning II. The aircraft flew flight demonstrations in its second appearance outside of Australia. Australia ordered 72 F-35As and it received the last of these in 2024.
Aircraft orders
Going into the airshow, there were rumors of a potential order by AirAsia for 100 A220s but this order did not happen at the 2026 Singapore Airshow. It will be interesting to see if this order pops up at another airshow in the future.
Air Cambodia placed an order for up to 20 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. This order is made up of 10 firm orders and options for 10 more.
Air Borneo ordered 8 ATR aircraft. This order was comprised of 5 ATR 72-600s and 3 ATR 42-600 aircraft.

Tigair Taiwan ordered 4 A321neo aircraft which is the airline's first order for this aircraft type.
It is clear that the 2026 Singapore Airshow had a particular focus on military aviation, with multiple military aircraft being displayed. However, there were some commercial aircraft orders but not the quantity that would typically be seen at Farnborough, Paris or Dubai Airshows.
What do you think about the strong presence of military aircraft? Were there any aircraft orders that surprised you? Let us know by leaving a comment below, on the group discussion page or on our social media. You can also get in touch with us by email.
